Mongolia’s plans to mark World Statistics Day

Greetings from Mongolia! Thank you very much for asking regarding the World Statistics Day, herewith, would like to introduce some events that will be organized during the Special day. For your kind note, Mr. Amarbal Avirmed, Director of Population and Social Statistics Department, NSO Mongolia, is organizing following events dedicated to the World Statistics Day. Most planned activities will be done by using social media due to given COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Firstly, Statistical articles and statistical posts regarding the World Statistics Day 2020 will be published on newspapers, magazines and websites and the World Statistics Day 2020 logo will be added to monthly statistical bulletins and press video, infographics highlighting and sharing international experiences in statistics to users. On 16 October and 20 October will be given special interview to the two main TV channels, also, statistical related quizzes is added to the official website of the National Statistics Office of Mongolia.


Secondly, the training on “Statistics-Users” will be organized for Diplomatic missions and international organizations residing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and “Statistical literacy” training will be organized for General education schools with purpose of improve statistical literacy and knowledge of users and advocacy of the statistics.

Lastly, an online competition on making posters and infographics using official statistics was announced on official website of National Statistics Office of Mongolia.
